As is often the case the Optical Industry has been very slow to react to the demands of the modern day Snooker Player.
With over 22 years of experience selling glasses online, in particular Snooker Glasses, I remember the first pair of snooker glasses I sold online was in 1997, this was to a professional Snooker Player living in Hong Kong.
As many of you are now aware the very popular Dennis Taylor Snooker Frame has now been discontinued.
I have done my own research and are now currently having our very own Semi Rimless Snooker Frame manufactured, exclusivley for Bowden Opticians.
This frame has been designed for Optimal Table Top Performance, with a semi a rimless frame available in Gold and Gunmetal.
The design allows the frame to sit above the level of the eyebrows so as not to hinder vision across the snooker table. Particular attention has been given to the frames pantoscopic angle to again give optimum vision.
This frame has been made out of metal, with sprung hinges and adjustable nose pads.
Over the last 22 years in supplying Prescription Snooker Glasses at Bowden opticians, I have met exactly the same challenges, with our suppliers always running out of stock, right at the start of the snooker season in Sept.
This year has been no different, with the discontinuation of the Dennis Taylor Snooker Spectacle just at the start of the Snooker Season.
This has been a very popular model for us, we have sold hundreds of pairs across the world, so you can imagine my horror to find the bad news yet again.
I have now made it my mission to avoid this happening again, and are due to receive our own in house designed frame ready fo rearly in Jan 2020.
